Star tortoises are herbivores that graze primarily on a variety of low quality, mixed grasses. They also eatopuntia (prickly pear) cactus, succulents, flowers, and weeds. Their natural diet is very high in fiber, high in calcium, and low in sugar and protein. The protein they do eat is all from plants; none is from animal sources. A Star tortoise’s natural diet does not include fruit, which contains high amounts of sugar that can cause bloating and parasite blooms.

Faverolles (chicken)
The Faverolles is a French breed of chicken. The breed was developed in the 1860s in north-central France, in the vicinity of the villages of Houdan and Faverolles. The breed was given the name of the latter village, and therefore, the singular is also Faverolles, not Faverolle.
Faverolles were originally bred in France as a utility fowl, used for both eggs and meat; but are now primarily raised for exhibition
